WHO are we?

emedia-asia.org is a travel news and content distribution site managed by Insiteful Web Media, a major travel content producer based in Thailand. We write travel guides and supply original news for some of the web’s most successful travel sites, including hotel, car hire, travel insurance and guide sites. Our international team has more than five years experience in providing web travel guides for thousands of destinations worldwide through our virtualtravelguides brand.

WHY are we doing this for free?

Thailand is a popular travel destination. It’s about time someone jumped into Web 2.0 and provided a dedicated travel news service for the 12 million annual visitors who are likely to visit Thailand in the next 12 months. Sixty per cent of these people are estimated to use the internet to plan their trip.

By galvanising the travel industry to participate in sharing their travel news, and utilising local media sources, we can effectively provide a genuinely useful service. Our sponsors get the benefit of publicity, as you will too if you choose to send us updates of your business.

What’s in it for you?

emedia-asia.org provides free up-to-date news and travel articles for the benefit of more than 5,000 different websites catering to the tourist industry in Thailand. It is backed by virtualtravelguides.com and aims to give website owners an easy and cost-effective means to keep their sites fresh, and increase their usefulness.

The articles are written by professionals and kept short and succinct for an efficient web experience. They are freely available to copy and paste into your site with minimal fuss. In these articles we recommended business such as yours, which means you get free publicity on other people’s sites.

The news is written daily with at least two stories per week on each of the main tourist areas. In it we announce your specials and important news for the benefit of the hundreds of thousands of people seeking Thai travel info daily. The news is reproduced from other first-hand sources. We aim to condense it into user-friendly, relevant, travel information that visitors can easily read and understand. In short, we re-organise the news for the benefit of visitors who are new to Thailand.

The weather and rates tool: is a useful little application we have developed to display BOTH weather and current exchange rates on your site. This single application is updated hourly from a major portal and shows current weather as well as exchange rates of baht to $, £ and €. It’s guaranteed free of malware and available in two sizes and six colours for Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Pattaya and Chiang Mai. Simply get the code from here and past it into your nav bar or elsewhere on your site.

WHEN does this all happen?

emedia-asia.org presently offers an introductory range of articles for you to cut and paste into your site freely. New articles are added each week and will continue indefinitely, along with pictures.

From September 2007, the news feed becomes available in XML for your web developer to integrate into your site. You can select headlines which target the source site or have the news displayed on a special page of your site. It’s not a difficult procedure for your webmaster to install and fresh news is added daily.

HOW much and HOW it works?

Free. Gratis. Zip, Zero! It’s been sponsored, and by including the feed or articles on your site you earn the right to have your news re-written by us and distributed via this growing channel.

Installation guide: the news comes as a standard xml feed. All we provide is a url that supplies the news feed, your webmaster can use one of several programs or methods to integrate both the news and/or headlines onto any page in your site. We have provided a guide on how to do this here.
